Angler Maury 2022 WIP




A mobile AR game about raising a pet angler by doing exercises.



In this project, I did...

  • designing, modeling, texturing, rigging, animating Maury and all the other 3D assets in the game
  • using AR foundation and AR Core in unity for achieving the AR effect
  • designing and programing the shop system
  • bridging game’s UI in the game scene’s hierarchy to the fish prefab that can only be generated after the game is running and the AR system recognizes the image tracker
  • animating the fish with animation layers
  • buiding the animation system
  • designing and programing the UI

Game Mechanics: Players will answer questions that could reveal their health status at the beginning of the game, and positive answers will get you more Kers(the game currency)to start the game. Kers could be used for buying food, cleaning the fish tank, and buying toys for Maury, and players could earn them by doing various exercises provided with instructions by the game. All the purchasable items can increase or decrease certain amounts of Maury's mood and health value, and the player's goal is to keep Maury healthy and happy.

Experience Goals: 
Players will feel a strong connection between their well-being and their pets' life. Players will experience the happiness of raising a fish, a sense of urgency to keep the fish alive, and apprehension when observing how the fish’s health mirrors the player’s.
