Gridlock 2021


This is a group project. I did the game environment designing, asset modeling, character modeling, UIUX, and all the 2D art. (All the car models were downloaded from the internet, but I did do adjustment to the main characer’s car inside maya for adding the glovebox, and place all the props properly.)

Concept Statement: A 3D narrative game where you embody the quintessential working professional ensnared in the daily grind. In an encounter with gridlock on your way to work, you are challenged to overcome the inertia of the present and step into a new life.

Story: Thomas Forman is a project manager at Gray Industries. On his commute to work, there is a massive traffic jam. At the outset of the game, his apparent goal is to get to work—and fast. Yet as we explore the objects in the car and interact with the people around Thomas, we realize that there exists another option that he’s been contemplating for a while: to step out of gridlock and enter a new life.
